BUT THERE’S NO WAR GOING ON
Hell no, these mutts don’t want us dead, it’s all happening because George Bush pissed them off.
FATAL COLLISION
The boat sank in 90 feet of water.
The five crew members, who were on the bridge of the freighter when it collided with the sailboat, did not have alcohol in their systems, the Coast Guard said Thursday; drug tests were not finished.
Both vessels were equipped with radar.
The Coast Guard had ordered the freighter anchored near New Haven, but the ship was cleared to leave Wednesday. Robberts and Bothma of the Essence were also tested for alcohol and drugs, but results were not yet available.
The Barkald had 29 crew and was heading to Halifax, Nova Scotia, from Bridgeport. The Essence, registered in the Caymans, was heading to Greenwich from Newport, R.I.

ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD
The alliance of Democrats and Republicans against Chavez (whose country is self destructing as we speak) and that Iranian mutt with all the vowels in his name, who looks like he escaped from an Ebola lab, was nice and all that, but what the hell was I going to write about if it stayed that way?
Nuke Iran

AH THE GOOD OL’ MEDIA … SO TRUE TO FORM
Whether or not the US threatened to bomb Pakistan for lack of cooperation in 2001.
Let me ask this: Who cares?
Let me ask this: Are you trying to provoke the Muslim population of a needed ally?
If you’re not: Why the fascination with a five-year old story?
By all means, feel free to explain the tree-cutting importance of this story.
Anyone?
The press does continue its predictability so.

EXPLAIN THIS TO ME …. PUL-EASE
•George Bush (father or son) is/are the anti-Christ.
•There never were, and would never have been, weapons capable of inflicting huge casualties on anybody, being manufactured in Iraq.
•Saddam Hussein never did anything to promote, support or spread terrorist activity.
•All Islamic Facists really don’t want us dead; it’s just a euphemism they use.
•Having a war in Iraq doesn’t pre-occupy Islamic terrorists.
•Having a war in Iraq doesn’t kill massive amounts of would-be, wannabe, are and were terrorists.
•Having a war in Afghanistan is … well, we don’t talk about Afghanistan, only Iraq.
•In all likelihood 9/11 wasn’t as bad as we thought it was the day it happened since they only killed 2,973 innocent people.
•President Clinton wasn’t too preoccupied with his, er, domestic troubles, to have paid attention to nascent terrorist activity.
•President Clinton was a great leader.
•We’re “for” the military but “against” what they do.
I — obviously — could go on. And on. And … but …
Explain this: How come we haven’t been attacked — and not for lack of trying — since September 11, 2001? (or as my wife so eloquently put it: "Whose afraid of a Democrat president?")
I’ll listen to ANY rational answer.
SOMETIMES EVEN THE DEMOCRATS GETS IT
Speaking about the Venezuelan who is driving his middle class business owners out of his country at — what should be apparent to anyone — a ruinous rate, she noted, “Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an everyday thug … [he] abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United Nations … [and] demeaned himself and he demeaned Venezuela.”
As one comedian said (and I don’t agree with the sentiment, but it does pretty much sum it up) “He [President Bush] may be an asshole, but he’s our asshole.”
Let’s see how long Chavez lasts once the campesinos get hungry.

… AWW, JUST READ THIS
“The Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) in New York [I don’t know if the mean the Federal EPA or the NY DEC, but ... — GPJ] has employed an extraordinary anti-terror alert strategy - the bluegill fish - according to the New York Daily News.
“Sixteen of the tiny fish – just three inches long – have been ‘employed’ to detect any biological or chemical weapons that could potentially be added to the water. Indeed, the “sensitive fish can amazingly detect a host of hazards - even from divers kicking up dirt in the water from as far away as 50 miles.”
“Bill Lawler – co-founder of the Intelligent Automation Corporation of San Diego and operator of the extraordinary system – comments that, “the fish can detect if there are pesticides, petroleum or heavy metal particles in the water.” They are monitored through “electrical signals,” which are then magnified 10,000 times by software produced from Lawler’s company. Coughing or the flexing of gills provides indication that there are foreign particles present in the water.
“Communication will arise between Lawler’s team and a technician based in New York if any problems are detected.
“The welfare of the fish however is of importance, and they are constantly measured to ensure there is no damage incurred.” (awwwwwww)

Pooh-pooh all you want.
When it happens, kiss your ass goodbye, 'cause you WILL glow in the dark.
If you have a brain that is unclouded by anti-Bushism, all you have to do is read between OBL's lines ... he's been fullfilling all the Koranic "requirements" for "good" mass destruction of the infidel (that's us).
AND SOMETHING ELSE …
Apparently …
Christopher Tolkien has spent the past 30 years working on something his father — J.R.R. Tolkien — started in 1918 titled The Children of Hurin, and has recently finished it. As near as I can tell, the story has to do with Elvish and Dwarf lore and tales.
Well, I know I’ll be looking for and reading it!

ALIENATION ... BY THOSE WHO KNOW
As per Mediabistro.com, here’s the sterling NYT on Path to 9/11.
“Once it became clear that it would have to run it [Path to 9/11] without sponsors, the network began to promote the mini-series as a public service. That decision left the network open to a weighty question: Is it truly a public service if it alienates a significant part of the audience?”
Which leaves the paper open to a weighty question as well: Is it truly a newspaper if it alienates a significant part of the audience.

BEST HEADLINE - ALL TIME
"If Only Bin Laden Had a Stained Blue Dress"
By my favorite blond Ann Coulter
ANYBODY KNOW THIS GUY?
The soldier's name is Harry Frank Klein. The records show he served with the 101st Airborne and Special Forces in Viet Nam. That is all there is to go on.
If any one who served in that time frame and might have known/served with the veteran I would really appreciate it if they would contact me.
Leave a message here and I'll pass it on to the proper people.
If you know any vets from that era, pass this to them please.
SOME JOURNALISTS DO GET IT RIGHT
The big difference between the Bush and Clinton camps? Nobody in the Bush administration threatened ABC or demanded they not air the show.
Even the thickest of you liberals have to admit that something smells funny in Arkansas (which is why the Clintons don’t live there, but that’s another story).
Anyway go here for Larry Elder’s take on it.

STRYKERS AND THE PRESS
“… We were told by The Washington Post earlier this year that it could be unsafe for soldiers to ride in.”
“… and I will tell you, interestingly enough, that same Washington Post reporter, after that report came out, he came to me and he said, please, Colonel Brown, do not make me ride in a Humvee. He said please, let me ride in a Stryker. And I was too nice a guy. I should have made him ride in a Humvee. I let him ride in a Stryker.”
And check out THIS I just added on October 17.

AL GORE’S SCIENCE vs. REAL SCIENCE
“A new study using NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) data finds consistent evidence that Earth's ozone layer is on the mend. A team led by Eun-Su Yang of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, analyzed 25 years of independent ozone observations at different altitudes in Earth's stratosphere, which lies between six and 31 miles above the surface. The observations were gathered from balloons, ground-based instruments, NASA and NOAA satellites.
The stratosphere is Earth's second lowest atmospheric layer. It contains approximately 90 percent of all atmospheric ozone. The researchers concluded the Earth's protective ozone layer outside of the polar regions stopped thinning around 1997. Ozone in these areas declined steadily from 1979 to 1997. The abundance of human-produced ozone-destroying gases such as
chlorofluorocarbons peaked at about the same time (1993 in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, 1997 in the stratosphere). Such substances were phased out after the 1987 international Montreal Protocol was enacted.
To read the full report, which includes findings on global ozone layer could be restored to 1980 levels some time in the middle of this century, go to BYM News .”
Or go on believing the rubbish the Greenies put out.
JOURNALISM 101
"A round of legal seminars on 43rd St. (like saying “10 Downing Street” in J circles; it’s the home of The New York Times) aims to help its newspaper staffers protect sources by using subterfuge like disposable phones and erasable notes.
"The main worry these days is not libel, or proving that you actually quoted something accurately," said Craig Whitney, the paper's standards editor. "It is being subpoenaed.""
Lover-ly, he said shaking his head with disgust.
LOOKOUT TAIWAN
Note the size of this puppy. That's an armored vehicle unloading. The image is courtesy Defense tech.
Defense Tech reports that China has just ordered 6 "Zubr" hovercraft from Russia's Almaz Shipbuilding. The Zubr Class is the world's largest hovercraft, displacing 555 tonnes. It has just over twice the tonnage carrying capacity of the US Navy's LCACs (150 tons to 70 tons); the ability to carry a number of weapons including 140mm rocket pods, 30mm cannon, or air defense missiles; and a cruising range of around 300 nautical miles. They would be extremely difficult to deploy from another ship in the manner of the USN's LCACs, but the Zubr's cruising range and load makes its usefulness in Taiwan invasion scenarios extremely obvious. Defense News believes the Chinese plan to buy them in order to initiate additional production of their own knock-offs.

AND ONE MORE THING
The absence of which — certainly if your logic process works like the Left’s — must mean it was pretty good and on the money.
WHY ARE AMERICANS SO UNITED? FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
“Nistorescu, managing director of the daily newspaper Evenimentul Zilei published his editorial Sept 24, two days after watching a celebrity telethon in New York for victims of the attacks … Like his other columns, Ode to America was meant for domestic consumption. No one knows when — or how — the article first reached the other side of the Atlantic. But Nistorescu figures it began when someone pulled it off the English-language version of his daily's Web page and sent it to a friend. Since then, thousands of Americans at home and expats around the world have e-mailed it to friends, saying it captured their nation's spirit. It has been read out to U.S. soldiers and on radio talk shows and posted on U.S. Websites.
Nistorescu says he had no idea his Ode to America would resonate so far away … Nistorescu remains surprised and touched by the success of the piece, one of thousands he has penned in a more than 20-year career.
“It is all about the American spirit and how freedom cannot be crushed,” he says.”
Why Are Americans So United?
They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.
Still, the American tragedy turned 300 million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the army, or the secret service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about.
Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand. __After the first moments of panic, they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag.
They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: “God Bless America!”
I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people. How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being?
Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes.
And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into a collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. __What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way?
Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money?
I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion...
Only freedom can work such miracles. — Cornel Nistorescu

THANK YOU ABC
It was so good I skipped most of the Giant’s opener … which looked like a good game.
Catch Part II if you can …
Oh … and you KNOW it’s pretty good by the amount of media coverage trashing it … and by the fact that no one had the balls to advertise during it (yes, it’s commercial free).
Again, thank you ABC.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THE BS
Awwwwwww.
Kiss my ass.
I guess you have to be Michael Moore (and to a lesser degree, Spike Lee, courtesy of his Katrina film) and/or a media talking head, Democrat, Liberal or any other history-can’t-teach-us-anything genius to produce movies that have “lies, distortions and inaccuracies.”
I forgot.

SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS
9/1/1939—Hitler invades Poland, saying that Poland was invading Hitler. The US makes no move, and Great Britain goes the appeasement route. The results are World War II. Sound familiar. Appeasement makes wars bigger.
And then:
9/2/1945 —Japan signs surrender documents aboard USS Missouri at anchor in Tokyo Bay.
9/3/1945 —Japanese surrender Wake Island in ceremony aboard USS Levy.
Of course this all occurred because of a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Sound familiar?
Then don’t forget 9/11/2001 … the actions, headlines and victims are the same.
