HE'S A FORD NOT A LINCOLN

President Gerald Ford uttered those words after his swearing in ceremony.

So here’s a salute to President Ford who died yesterday.

Say what you like about the man, he had dignity and cojones. He was the president who sent the military (and some civilian volunteers) in to re-take the Mayaquez , a freighter pirated by the Khmer Rouge in 1975.

And say what you want about the rescue, which ended up with three captured (and executed Marines), plus some 33 KIAs, he didn’t sit on his hands and worry about what the public might think.

I don’t think the USS Pueblo (taken by the North Koreans) or the USS Liberty (attacked by the Israelis) would have ended the same way they did had President Ford been the C-i-C.

So Hail to a Chief with Cojones ... and Godspeed.
