The New York Times … I can’t write this … here’s the blurb from mediabistro.com.
“NYTimes.com Withholds British Terror Article in Britain. If Web readers in Britain were intrigued by the headline "Details Emerge in British Terror Case," which sat on top of the New York Times’ home page much of yesterday, they would have been disappointed with a click. 'On advice of legal counsel, this article is unavailable to readers of nytimes.com in Britain,' is the message they would have seen. “
The explanation?
“This arises from the requirement in British law that prohibits publication of prejudicial information about the defendants prior to trial.”
Now wait a f-----g minute! They chicken shitted out on a story harmful to terrorists in Great Britain, but got the big balls to print stuff in America that was harmful to Americans?!?
You have GOT to be shitting me!
The ramblings, meanderings and personal opinions about war, politics, adventure and anything else that strikes my fancy.

IF IT'S NOT WRITTEN IT DIDN'T HAPPEN
A site I came upon called Pipleline News.Org had an interesting piece on the rampant immigration of Africans into Europe.
Titled Out of Africa - Illegal Immigrants, Crime, Terrorism, Polygamy And Aids [sic] the piece — a lengthy one, but well worth the read — is an alarming look at what’s going on in Europe, where the illegal immigration problem has effectively defeated any and all government attempts to stop or control it.
THIS REPORT written by a German newsman Emerson Vermaat (I think he’s German because of a comment he makes on the rise of neo-Nazism in Germany) is quite an eye opener AND is thoroughly documented with some 89 citations, only seven of which come from US news organizations.
Several of the American citations are from the likes of the Jamestown Foundation, the Washington Times, etc., who have been stalwarts in the war against terrorism.
The only two “traditional” big-time media sources quoted are AP and Newsweek, both of which the author, obviously wary of bad reportage, backed up with alternate citations.
THIS is a scary read.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT DEPARTMENT
You may not be able to make this shit up, but you sure can bury it.
A Sudanese poet and novelist — who I am sure is soon to be named as a suspect in the JonBenet Ramsey murder (is THAT guy whacked or what?) — named Kola Boof, says she was once kidnapped by Osama bin Laden, and kept as his mistress.
Big deal?
She also alleges that OBL had the hots for Whitney Houston, spoke of killing Bobby Brown, and wanted to marry Houston.
Boof, also said OBL would “ramble on” about his favorite TV shows: The Wonder Years, Miami Vice and MacGyver, and said that, “In his briefcase, I would come across photographs of the star, as well as copies of Playboy ... It would soon come to the point where I was sick of hearing Whitney Houston’s name.”
Big deal, again, you say?
The press has already relegated this to the “weird story” section, but think of the implications if it were given as widespread dissemination as say as a Bushian verbal faux pas.
Not a chance. This’ll get buried along with anything else the anti-American crowd that runs the media doesn’t want you to think about.

DIGGS TAYLOR DIGS YOU A GRAVE
US Federal Judge Anna Diggs Taylor reinterpreted the never-meant-to-be-interpreted Constitution today and decided all by her very lonesome that NSA surveillance was against the Constitution.
It’s just too God damn bad she can’t be in the next tower to go down, or plane/train/auto to blow.
This broad is a hangover from the Carter Administration (now there’s a surprise! Jesus, hasn’t that administration been responsible for killing enough people?) … I can’t WAIT for her rulings record to come out.
Thanks for nothing.

DOH!
There is so much stupidity, sensationalism, inanity, obfuscation and plain ol' pandering to the lowest common denominator evidenced by the media that I can’t even write about it anymore.
And all of them — from the NYT, LAT, WAPO and their ilk to ABC, CBS and NBC and their ilk — are the absolute first to throw stones at media like The National Enquirer.
Jeez, give me a potato shaped liked Elvis any day.
That, at least, is what it really is … a potato shaped like Elvis.
This rant brought on by the exploding battery mis-reportage (the sky is falling, the sky is falling!) … but that was merely the cellphone in the IED.

RACIAL PROFILING
Two men in Dearborn (istan), Michigan were arrested for “laundering” money for Hezbollah. The two men, Ali Houssaiky and Osama Abulhassan, also had $11,000 in cash, 12 cell phones, airline passenger lists and information on airport security in their possession when arrested. They were stopped for a defective turn signal.
Okay … from now on we ONLY stop Blacks and Latinos. After all, they’re the ONLY races of people in the country who HAVEN’T committed a terrorist act.

COULDN’T HAVE SAID IT BETTER
For those of you not from the New York (downstate) area, you’ve got to check out The Kid From Brooklyn if you haven’t already.
Here’s his pithy comments on today’s Middle East sit-chee-ation.
You may want to lower the volume some.
Go get ‘em Big Man.
Thanks to Linda H. for reminding about The Kid.

CURSES, FOILED AGAIN … THANKFULLY
The Brits had been watching the people arrested in a plot to blow up in-flight airliners for around a year according to British reports, and were tipped off to the existence of this bunch of garbage by an arrest of two Brit subjects by Pakistani police. All — at last report — of the subjects were British citizen of Pakistani heritage. All may have not been nabbed, by the way.
The bastards were, apparently, all set to go the self-immolation route by using liquid (reportedly a peroxide-based mix) explosive in carry-on luggage to blowing up as many airliners as possible in flight. The number 10 gets bandied about quite a bit, but with reportedly up to 24 arrested, who knows how many planes would have gone down?
(An aside: I suggest travelling dry for the time being. I love that the Brits were making mothers sample formula before allowing them to take it on board out of London. Could you simply imagine the BS that would go on in the US if they did that? Why, the violation of civil rights would ... what assholes we can be.)
Meanwhile muslim “leaders” in Great Britain are bemoaning the arrests, asking for proof.
To that I say: Go f—k yourselves and your primeval excuse for a religion.
Congrats to the British Security Service (commonly mis-named MI5) and Pakistani ISI (Directorate for Inter-Service Intelligence) for bringing this group down.
And thank God and Allah they were taken down in Britain and Pakistan where the bleeding heart factor will be kept to a minimum thanks to the Secrets Act and good ol’ Islamic justice.
No braying from the ACLU, UN or any other liberal assholes to prevent some well applied "convincing" — both sophisticated and not — to see what else can be found out.
For those of you who STILL don’t think we’re in a war … avail yourselves of the same advice I give the muslim “leaders” above.
What do you need to do? Ride a plane or a building down?

HERE’S ANOTHER SURPRISE
In the rush to make something anti-West (at best) and anti-Bush (at worst) or pro-murderers (the real agenda), Reuters, an otherwise relatively respectable and impartial (certainly more so than any US papers left OR right) organization, let some of its left-wing politics show when it bought pictures from a long-time stringer that were altered via Photoshop to make an explosion look worse that it was.
Add to that the revelation that the same woman appears in photos wailing over something that appeared in both AP and Reuters. So what? Supposedly the wailing was over the dead in separate towns and the incidents were two weeks apart. Of course, the NYT, LAT, etc., are all bemoaning the fact and tsk-tsking their brains out, but I guaran-gah-damn-tee you that they got suckered as well; if not on these on plenty of others.
The press: the way they get away with everything is that if it’s published or shown on television, well, then, by gosh, by golly, it must be true.
Don’t fall prey to these inept, officious, arrogant fools. They have an agenda and are trying to foist it on to you.

AND HERE’S A LAUGHER
An organization of J-school professors called the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication have issued a 10-point treatise itemizing what bad-bad Leroy Brown ….er, President Bush has done that’s "bad" in regards to freedom of the press.
This is a classic example of pot and kettle.
Here are a couple of issues I take with any pronouncement coming out of organization of j-school professors:
One: Those who can do, those who can’t teach.
Two: The major problem with journalists today is that they go to J-school instead of learning how to report in the field. By and large the ones I’ve met were so far in the ionosphere when it came to reality… remember the scene in the Rodney Dangerfield movie Back to School when businessman and new freshman Thornton Melon (Dangerfield) gives Dr. Phillip Barbay, the business professor (played by Paxton Whitehead) a reality lesson in doing business outside the classroom? Same thing needs to be done in J-schools across the country.
Three: The major problems with J-schools are the professors whose emotional and political development stopped some time around the days when the Baader-Meinhoff, Red Brigade, Symbionese Liberation Army thugs ruled the media and its “social consciousness.” J-school professors’ politics constantly interfere with the dissemination of information — and it’s no wonder that journalists are always presenting opinion as news and/or allowing their own bias to color the reportage. It’s how they were taught.

AND I QUOTE
This from the Detroit News another of our gallant stalwart media outlets that doesn't understand we're at war. This story is out of the Dearborn, Michigan area, which is a hotbed of muslim terrorist support …
(Can you say internment? Since they're already there ...)
Anyway ...
From an article dated August 2, 2006:
Hayat Taleb, aged 24, who grew up in the US, and is a mother of two children, regarding the Israeli ass-kicking of Hezbollah in Lebanon and what she considers the US support of the action.
“I’d rather die there [Lebanon] than live here [America].”
Personally, I’d be happy to oblige. Either with a one-way ticket or a bullet.
Oh… and new terminology that, hopefully, you will have first encountered on LRRP’s World.
No more Hezbollah. From now on, it’s “Hezbos.” God, but I love lexicography and its attendant entries.

LOVE THE HEADLINE
“Taiwan Seeking a Better F-CK, With Possible Longer-Term Aspirations”
It doesn’t have anything to do with anything you might think. F-CK is the Republic of China Air Force’s F-CK 1 Ching-Kuo Indigenous Defense Fighter jet. The headline is from Defense Industry Daily, proving that even the military-industrial complex has a sense of humor.

Great shots all around and the text not only describes what you're looking at but has a treasure trove of trivia in it.
Thanks to Scott S down in Florida for the lead (among other things!).

CASTRO REDUX
Okay, so I told you he was dead.
Apparently the bearded anachronism has an intestinal bleed and has turned over the reins of power to brother Raul who - after all these years - has managed to avoid any symptons or incidents of Che-itis.
But if Fidel dies on the table, you can STILL say LRRP's World had it first.
And if he does die, it woulda been a whole lot more numerologically pleasing had he started his dirt nap on July 26, no?
