SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: JIMMY CAH-TUH

I have never been nor ever will be a fan of Jimmy Carter, but you can’t make this shit up, even if you try. The former President and erstwhile do-gooder bashed a sitting president on the Today Show a week or so back, and, naturally, apologized like every good Democrat does when he speaks his mind, when taken to task about it.

But nonetheless …

During his four-year reign of error, Carter did nothing to intervene when the Sandinistas introduced a Communist regime in Nicaragua. He wore sweaters and talked about “malaise” on television while Islamic fundamentalists overthrew an allied government in Iran. He allowed 52 Americans to languish in captivity there for 444 days. He finished off his term with interest rates at 21 percent, inflation at 13 percent, and an approval rating at 21 percent—the lowest in the history of modern polling.
