Apparently that maxim holds true: the squeaky wheel DOES get oiled.
Those stalwarts in Congress got so much mail, e-mails, telephone calls and faxes about those imam mutts who are suing US Air and want the names of the American Infidels who turned them in that the language of Congressman Steve Pearces’ HR 1640 was put into Congressman Bill Shuster’s bill HR 1401 which passed the House overwhelmingly by a vote of 304 to121.
Thank you Congressman Pearce, Shuster and the rest of you who so wisely voted for it.
As for you other mokes … Here’s a list of the 121 morons who voted against it .
You’ll note some luminaries such as John “I Didn’t Kill Her” Conyers, Barney “It’s My” Frank, as well as Carolyn “Off With Their Guns” McCarthy and others of more or less equal stature. Go figure.
The amendment is retroactive to activities that took place on or after November 20, 2006 — the date of the Minneapolis incident involving the six Islamic “leaders” who were removed from a U.S. Airways flight after they were observed acting suspiciously.
To them I say: Kiss my infidel ass.
Nuke Iran.
The ramblings, meanderings and personal opinions about war, politics, adventure and anything else that strikes my fancy.

WHO HAVE THUNK IT?
To think … the government and people of Bangladesh (a Muslim-majority country) have more balls than the remoras (look it up) we elected to Congress.
At least they hung six Islamic militants yesterday.
A tip of the hat to the Bangladeshis.
Nuke Congress.

HAVE YOU LIBERAL ASSHOLES HAD ENOUGH YET?
The six-imam issue— I wrote about this last week in LRRP’s World (see below for 22 March) — has taken a new twist.
Seems like these CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations) mutts want the names of the Americans who said they looked suspicious, in order that they be named in the lawsuit they’re filing against US Air.
Fortunately, someone in this country has balls: Congressman Steve Pearce, R-New Mexico.
Because of this action by these thugs, Pearce’s had to introduce "Protecting Americans Fighting Terrorism Act of 2007, H.R. 1640."
The law's purpose: protecting Americans (I get incredibly mad writing this!) from being sued for reporting suspicious activities to law enforcement and security personnel!
Do you f-----g believe this? We have to pass a law in our own country to stop murderers and thieves from finding out the names of people who pointed out to law enforcement that they are murderers and thieves.
If anyone reading this doesn’t send a letter or e-mail to their Congressman, Senator or any other national official, you deserve everything that happens as a result of these sorry excuses for “clergy.”
What person out there hasn’t had it with this Muslim/Islam/terrorist BS? (And until Muslims rise up as a unified bunch and “religion of peace” and stone these stupid bastards, they all get included in the pejorative.)
Nuke ‘em all.

THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
This just in:
“The editor of a French satirical weekly was found not guilty of insulting Muslims, following his decision last year to publish cartoons of the prophet Muhammad that had attracted fury across the Muslim world. A court ruled that Philippe Val, editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo, was innocent of the charge of making "public insults against a group of people because they belong to a religion." Allah my akbah my ass.
Being that our print media didn’t even have the balls to run the cartoons — hey, I linked to them — it’s unlikely this will happen over here, right?
Wanna’ bet the ACLU will jump all over the chance to try that case?
Bomb Iran (what the hell is wrong with the British Navy for God sakes!?!?)
Nuke Iran. Then Bomb it Again.

WALTER REED HOSPITAL — WHAT YOU HAVEN’T HEARD
As usual, when it comes to telling news objectively the Fourth Estate proves woefully inadequate, supercilious and agenda driven. When it comes to relating “news” about wars and other things military, these attitudes often shift into high gear venturing — if not crossing — that line separating fact from fiction.
I am not asserting that what was reported about Building 18 didn't happen. I am asserting that omission is the same as lying; the press lies consistently, and is quite righteous about it.
I don’t like re-printing e-mails making the rounds, but this one bears passing on. It was written as a private letter from the senior Army chaplain at Reed to some of his colleagues. The chaplain has refused to speak about the letter because it was initially private correspondence, and he feels that his position and the policy of the US Army precludes it. He appears to be one of those honorable men, many of whom make up the military.
Anyway, read this (it was written March 21) ... and then go take a dump on the doorstep of your nearest “news”paper.
Thanks to Paul L for including me in the chain of this letter.
“I have had enough and am going to give my perspective on the news about Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Please understand that I am speaking for myself and I am responsible for my thoughts alone. The news media and politicians are making it sound like Walter Reed is a terrible place and the staff here has been abusing our brave wounded soldiers; what a bunch of bull!
“I am completing my 24th year of service in the Army next month so you decide for yourself if I have the experience to write about this topic. I have been the senior clinical chaplain at Walter Reed for four years and will leave to go back to the infantry this summer. I supervise the chaplain staff inside Walter Reed that cares for the 200 inpatients, the 650+ daily outpatients from the war who come to us for medical care, the 4000+ staff, and over 3000 soldiers and their families that come for clinical appointments daily. Walter Reed has cared for over 5500 wounded from the war. I cannot count the number of sick and non-battle injured that have come through over that timeframe. The staff at this facility has done an incredible job at the largest US military medical center with the worst injured of the war. We have cared for over 400 amputees and their families. I am privileged to serve the wounded, their families, and our staff.
“When the news about building 18 broke I was on leave. I was in shock when the news broke. We in the chaplains office in Walter Reed, as well as the majority of people at Walter Reed, did not know anyone was in building 18. I didn't even know we had a building 18. How can that happen? Walter Reed is over 100 acres of 66 buildings on two installations. Building 18 is not on the installation of Walter Reed and was believed to be closed years ago by our department. The fact that some leaders in the medical brigade that is in charge of the outpatients put soldiers in there is terrible. That is why the company commander, first sergeant, and a group of platoon leaders and platoon sergeants were relieved immediately. They failed their soldiers and the Army. The commanding general was later relieved (more about this) and his sergeant major has been told to move on--if he gets to. The brigade sergeant major was relieved and more relief's are sure to come and need to. As any leader knows, if you do not take care of soldiers, lie, and then try to cover it up, you are not worthy of the commission you hold and should be sent packing. I have no issue, and am actually proud, that they did relieve the leaders they found who knew of the terrible conditions some of our outpatients were enduring. The media is making it sound like these conditions are rampant at Walter Reed and nothing could be further from the truth. We need improvements and will now get them. I hate it that it took this to make it happen.
“The Army and the media made MG Weightman, our CG, out to be the problem and fired him. This was a great injustice. He was only here for six months, is responsible for military medical care in the 20 Northeast states, wears four "hats" of responsibilities, and relies on his subordinate leaders to know what is happening in their areas of responsibilities. He has a colonel that runs the hospital (my hospital commander), a colonel that runs the medical brigade (where the outpatient wounded are assigned and supposedly cared for), and a colonel that is responsible to run the garrison and installation. What people don't know is that he was making many changes as he became aware of them and had requested money to fix other places on the installation. The Army did not come through until four months after he asked for the money, remember that he was here only six months, which was only days before they relieved him. His leaders responsible for outpatient care did not tell him about conditions in building 18. He has been an incredible leader who really cares about the wounded, their families, and our staff. I cannot say the same about a former commander, who was my first commander here at Walter Reed, and definitely knew about many problems and is in the position to fix them and he did not. MG Weightman also should not be held responsible for the military's unjust and inefficient medical board system and the problems in the VA system. We lost a great leader and passionate man who showed he had the guts to make changes and was doing so when he was made the scapegoat for others.
“What I am furious about is that the media is making it sound like all of Walter Reed is like building 18. Nothing could be further from the truth. No system is perfect but the medical staff provides great care in this hospital. What needs to be addressed, and finally will, is the bureaucratic garbage that all soldiers are put through going into medical boards and medical retirements. Congress is finally giving the money that people have asked for at Walter Reed for years to fix places on the installations and address shortcomings. What they don't want you to know is Congress caused many problems by the BRAC process saying they were closing Walter Reed. We cannot keep nor attract all the quality people we need at Walter Reed when they know this place will close in several years and they are not promised a job at the new hospital. Then they did this thing call A76 where they fired many of the workers here for a company of contractors, IAP, to get a contract to provide care outside the hospital proper. The company, which is responsible for maintenance, only hired half the number of people as there were originally assigned to maintenance areas to save money. Walter Reed leadership fought the A76 and BRAC process for years but lost. Congress instituted the BRAC and A76 process; not the leadership of Walter Reed.
“What I wish everyone would also hear is that for every horror story we are now hearing about in the media that truly needs to be addressed, you are not hearing about the hundreds of other wounded and injured soldiers who tell a story of great care they received. You are not hearing about the incredibly high morale of our troops and the fact that most of them want to go back, be with their teammates, and finish the job properly. You should be very proud of the wounded troopers we have at Walter Reed. They make me so proud to be in the Army and I will fight to get their story out.
“I want you to hear the whole story because our wounded, their families, our Army, and the nation need to know that many in the media and select politicians have an agenda. Forget agendas and make the changes that have been needed for years to fix problems in every military hospital and the VA system. The poor leaders will be identified and sent packing and good riddance to them. I wish the same could be said for the politicians and media personalities who are also responsible but now want it to look like they are very concerned. Where have they been for the last four years? I am ashamed of what they all did and the pain it has caused many to think that everyone is like that. Please know that you are not hearing the whole story. Please know that there are thousands of dedicated soldiers and civilian medical staff caring for your soldiers and their families. When I leave here I will end up deploying. When soldiers in my division have to go to Walter Reed from the battlefield, I know they will get great medical care. I pray that you know the same thing.

TERRORIST FRONT SUES US AIRWAYS
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) — that good ol’ BS quasi religious organization that smells suspiciously like a terrorist organization, but cows our elected officials by invoking the “D” word at every chance — has filed a suit against US Airways for racial D and religious intolerance.
About what, you ask?
About, six imams boarding a November 21, 2006 US Airways Flight at Minneapolis after attending a conference of the North American Imam Federation. Witnesses say that they prayed loudly invoking Allah, switched from their assigned seats to a September 11 attack pattern, spoke in Arabic and English, criticized the war in Iraq and President Bush, talked about al Qaeda and bin Laden, and asked for seat-belt extenders. They were arrested and then released.
"That's like shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater. You just can't do that anymore," said Robert MacLean, a former air marshal. "They should have been denied boarding and been investigated. It looks like they are trying to create public sympathy or maybe setting someone up for a lawsuit."
Here’s the entire story.
Scum are scum, and hiding behind some BS religious crap doesn’t change that.
Nuke Iran and throw CAIR out of this country.
Goahd. Sometimes you gotta wonder about this country.

AH, TIS A GOOD NIGHT FOR SOME WHISKEY
In Galway lived an old lady\ who after 89 years was still a virgin and very proud of it.
Sensing that her final days were rapidly approaching, and desiring to make sure everything was in proper order when she died, she went to the town's undertaker (who also happened to be the local postal clerk), Seamus, to make proper final arrangements.
As a last wish, she informed Seamus, she wanted the following inscription engraved on her tombstone:
"BORN A VIRGIN, LIVED AS A VIRGIN, DIED A VIRGIN"
Not long after, the old maid died peacefully in her rocker in front of a warm peat fire.
A few days after the funeral, as Seamus started to prepare the tombstone that the lady had requested, it became quite apparent that the tombstone that she had selected was much too small for the wording she had chosen.
Ah, but Seamus thought long and hard about how he could fulfill the old maid's final request, considering the very limited space available on the small piece of stone.
For days, he agonized over the dilemma. But finally his experience as a postal worker gave him the solution.
He completed the auld virgin's tombstone, and duly engraved it read:
"RETURNED UNOPENED"
Have a Happy (and a safe) St. Patrick's Day ...
Except the Iran which still needs to be nuked.
Ahhh, tonight we'll all be pals!

SOME MORE NEWS YOU’LL NEVER GET
Unfortunately, the selectively objective American media will never report this.
The following is an excerpted transcript from an address by Abdallah Safialdeen, Hizbollah’s representative in Iran. It aired on Iranian Channel 4 on March 4, 2007.
Abdallah Safialdeen: “The day that Hizbullah won the war shaped the future of the region. It led to what we are witnessing today: America's actions, the domestic problems of the Zionist regime, the confusion of Europe ... Do you know what an American withdrawal from Iraq will mean? It will mean that Israel will lose its support. … Hizbullah will be able to simply walk into Palestine … What was one of the reasons for [Israeli premier] Olmert's recent visit to America? He went there in order to say to the Democrats: "Don't say that the American army will leave Iraq, because this would mean the annihilation of the Zionist regime." …
“Like some of our friends say, Palestine is no longer a problem for us, because the Americans will be forced to leave Iraq. With or without a war against Iran, they will be forced to do so. The moment they leave Iraq, you, the Muslims of the world, can walk into Palestine, because Israel will no longer exist … It will be over and done with. Even with America's [help], Israel could not do a thing. The Americans will be kicked out of the region, without accomplishing anything. The American forces will be kicked out of the region, in disgrace, humiliation, and defeat.”
Here’s the complete clip, if you’re interested.

HEAD TERRORIST GIVES IT UP
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed purportedly told interrogators that he either planned or took part in 29 separate terrorist attacks.
Of course, I’m sure he gave it up voluntarily, and I’m SURE some liberal asshole out there wants him freed, wants all the tapes, transcripts, etc.
Because we were mean to ol’ Khalid.
Well, next step should be to put him out in the minefields and Gitmo and play only wound, don’t kill …

IN TODAY'S NEWS ...
The Republicans and/or George Bush are responsible for: the woes in Latin America, the war in Iraq, the Walter Reed Hospital FUBAR, Scooter Libby, Ann Coulter (go get ‘em Ann!!), jobs down (of course, pay is up, but that’s probably due to the Dems taking over Congress), the FBI record scandal, and — I’m sure — any problems you or your electronic equipment may be having with the new DST.
The Democrats have done nothing ... Well, what I mean is …
No, that’s pretty much what I mean.
The Democrats have done nothing. Ho hum.
Have a happy Daylight Savings Time … Nuke Iran and Syria
Went to see Zodiac this evening. Long but relatively attention-keeping for my ADD self. Good flic. Funny bit with the premier of Dirty Harry.

THE FATE OF OLD WARRIORS
No, this has nothing to do with Walter Reed — were any of us surprised by this latest debacle? Military philosophy always seems to be “there’s nothing so useless as a soldier who can’t fight and won’t die.” Ah well …).
Anyway … this is about the venerable F-4 Phantom. I’ve fired — well, we found, the FAC fired — these puppies on several occasions and once in a very hairy one, and speedy or not, they sure saved the day.
So — speaking of old soldiers — HERE’S what happened to the old “Double Ugly” (as some called it, “Rhino” as others. I seem to recall referring to them as “Boomers” and, of course, the generic “Tac Air”).
From a Defense Industry Daily report.

NEW DST SCREWS UP TIDE TABLES
Daylight Savings Time begins early this year — March 11 at 0200 — and is part of an effort by the US Congress to save energy.
Unrealized ramification for us: tide tables will be off by one hour from March 11 until the old DST date (April 8).
The Law of Unforseen Consequences strikes again.

WHY A WEARING BURQA AIN’T FREEDOM OF RELIGION
As reported by China’s People’s Daily Online (English version)
“The soldiers caught Mullah Mahmood garbed in a Burqa, a kind of traditional all-covering robe for Afghan women, at a checkpoint in Panjwai district on Tuesday, the statement said.
“Mahmood, who [is] called as [sic] a senior Taliban commander and suicide attack facilitator for Kandahar province, was trying to escape from Panjwai when he was caught, it said.
“Afghan and the U.S.-led coalition forces captured six suspected al-Qaida terrorists in Nangarhar province on Wednesday morning.”
Wearing a burqa over here ain't no diff than wearing a Klansman's hood or a ski mask.

SOUVENIR HUNT
Back in the “good old days” (i.e., Nam) when the Army invaded Cambodia in 1970 (I was about as far in the rear at that time as one could get), the lack of a major number of enemy to kill turned the assault into “The Great Souvenir Hunt.”
Getting your hands on stuff to take home has always a big deal in those after combat moments, no matter what war, but how would you like to have been these two troops?
It happened in Ninewa Province, Iraq, back on February 9. From Military.Com.
“Two Garry Owen troops assigned to Ghost Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Pfc. Ryan Kennedy and Spc. Isaiah Johnson, grunts assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cav, made the discovery during a search.
“The day's find included 30 blasting caps, about 250,000 rounds of small-arms ammunition, 25 grenade fuses, 37 high-explosive anti-tank weapons, 100 unfused grenades, one Iranian PG-7 grenade rocket, six Chinese 75mm APERS rocket fuses, 13 French 68mm SPAMV rockets, 72 rocket motors, 10 Iraqi 40mm rockets, 221 mortars, 300 various fuses, 40 pounds of propellant, 50 pounds of detonation cord, 13 PG-7 launchers, 17 AK-47 assault rifles, one Russian machine gun, two sniper rifles, one PKC machine gun, 40 million Iraqi Dinar, more than 400 fake identification cards, and various Motorola radios, including one Iraqi police radio believed to have belonged to an IP who had been previously kidnapped and subsequently killed.”
Nice going, troopers.
You will also want to check THIS video out. It's just another story about the guys you won't hear about.
In this case it's the people who disarm IEDs. There is some footage that had me wincing away from the screen waiting for the bang to go off.
I salute anybody doing EOD anywhere!

GUT CHECK
It’s only a matter of time before all the idiot savants that comprise the US press pick it up, but their cousins over in the UK are running gleefully with a story predicting any nuclear — or otherwise — intervention in Iran would cause the cavemen in Teheran to make a quicker, dirtier, simpler bomb and use it.
Guaranteed Obama, Hillary and the rest of the crew will be running around waving their hands in the air as if they’ve stumbled upon a wasp nest, screeching hysterically that President Bush is not only the cause of global warming, but is now the sixth horseman of the Apocalypse.
I say gut check time. Nuke ‘em now.
And to continue paraphrasing Revelations … if they wanna’ see the white horse, show it to their raggedy asses.
Nuke Iran.

TA-TA TO THE SECOND AMENDMENT
Unfortunately, life is starting to imitate another bumper sticker.
I’ve always considered the ol’ “when you pry my dead, cold fingers off” attitudes to guns a bit over-alarming. I’m not a big gun guy myself, but have never had any problems with them. Of course, to paraphrase an old Paul Simon [excuse me. One of LRRP's World's fans, CH of MA, points out it's a Joni Mitchell ditty. My apologies) song “you don’t know what you got til it’s gone.”
Every American ought to be concerned about HR 1022, introduced by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy a couple of weeks ago. McCarthy, a Democratic (Wow. There’s a surprise), you may remember, was the wife of one of the people killed by Colin Ferguson during the Long Island Rail Road massacre of 1994. The fact that Ferguson was about 17 wheels short of an 18 wheeler, apparently doesn't make any difference to the anti-gun crowd.
Anyway … McCarthy’s bill is meant to “reauthorize the assault weapons ban, and for other purposes.” It’s an attempt to re-instate the Clinton ban, which expired back in 1994. And I really don't like that "for other purposes" language.
I don’t necessarily have a problem with banning assault rifles (and I don’t give a rat’s ass … you don’t have the right to have a .50 sniper rifle like a Barrett unless you’re in the military), but — and here’s where the bumper sticker starts to get correct — the guns that are considered “bad” under this bill aren’t assault rifles, and include all semi-auto shotguns; all detachable-magazine semis; the most popular competition sporting rifles—including the Colt AR-15, the Springfield M1A and even today’s version of the M1 Garand; any shotgun or semi-automatic rifle having “any characteristic that can function as a grip;” any automatic fixed-magazine pistol exceeding a ten-round capacity; and any parts needed to repair or refurbish guns in circulation that are covered under the ban.
There’s a whole lot more, and all of it disturbing enough to make me finally breakdown and buy a few things I’ve been lusting for ... just in case.
For the entire story of the Democrat’s gun grabbing attempts (and a reason why every conservative in the damn country better vote in the next election): Patriot’s Digest for March 2.
