OUTSTANDING

Check out THESE images of Endeavour and the space station. Incredible.

CAIR PUSHES ITS AGENDA

CAIR is the Council on American Islamic Relations.

It's a proven terrorist front that condones racism, terrorism, and the usual despicable actions of those "radical few" who practice the "religion of peace" while trying to kill anyone who doesn't believe in it.

I will say again, that until Muslims around the world rise up and have the gumption to take back their religion from the heretics who run it now, it will remain a garbage system of beliefs.

Anyway, CAIR has managed to cow AutoZone, TrustedID, Citrix, OfficeMax and JC Penney to stop advertising on a radio program that has had the "temerity" to call Islam, what it is. (I'll be more specific: Islam is a repository of medieval thought and action, selective interpretation and fundamentally flawed reasoning that — practiced as it is today — is not a religion but a hate group).

This is an American show (Savage Nation), protected by an American constitution that is being shamefully abandoned because the host dares to tell the truth about this trash religion.

Let AutoZone, TrustedID, Citrix, OfficeMax and JC Penney know you will no longer purchase their products because of their actions.

Aren't you tired of YOUR civil liberties being slowly taken away from you under the single-agenda driven, sham, "principle" of political correctness? Aren't you tired of paying taxes to support non-citizens? Aren't you tired of watching 80-year old ladies being searched while Middle Eastern-garbed women are allowed to walk around an airport masked from head-to-toe? Aren't you tired of being told you have to allow all religions freedom while yours is systematically removed from public places?

We are witnessing — not doing anything but witnessing, mind you — the fall of America and we're doing so without a whimper.

Do something about it.

AW, THE POOR REPORTERS ...

There’s some form of logic here … or not

The Times reports that it’s real dangerous for journalists in Iraq, and that they “can’t go anywhere” in Baghdad. They then go on to proclaim, “the problem is much worse than the American people realize.”

Okay. What problem? The problem that the journalists are too chicken shit to do their (well-paying) job?

Or is it the problem that reporting that something is too dangerous without going where the danger is, isn’t reporting, it’s passing rumor?

Or could it be that — like so many journalists have been accused — it’s just not safe calling it in from the bar anymore because they’re too many witnesses?

SHINE A LIGHT

Well, what the hell do you THINK would happen when you mix Marty Scorsese and Mick Jagger?

Shine A Light - Opens April 4, 2008>

Go HERE ... and go there. NOW.

SIMPLY SHOCKING

Oprah endorses Obama

Streisand endorses Hillary

What next? The sun rising in the east? A Hollywooder going into rehab? Terrorist blowing up themselves? A pro sports star getting shot? A flood in Bangladesh? A fire in California? Hurricanes in the Caribbean? Snow in the Rockies? Swooping Arctic cold fronts?

Are there no end to the surprises?

And to think, this stuff actually gets headlines.

Ho-hum.

(And in the spirit of the season: Nuke Iran)

COUNTERING IEDs

What are the following? Guardians, Golans, Caimans, Cougars, MaxxPro, Dingos, Panthers, Nyalas, MOWAG Eagles, Duros and Bushmasters?

Well, despite the American military insistence on buying Hummers that can’t be protected well enough against IEDs no matter what is tried, the above are all more-protectable designs being produced to answer the IED threat. The US has been buying some of the first five listed above (and why they keep buying Hummers is beyond me), but other countries are building different designs and they are being purchased by other country’s militaries as well.

And the answer is: Bea Arthur.

Far out.

HOW QUICK HE FORGOT

A retired Army general (three-star) gave the Democrats response to President Bush's remarks yesterday.

Anybody remember General Sanchez?

Go HERE. That ought to jog everyone's memory.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Ah, the A-10 Warthog. They're receiving upgrades and are being fielded rapidly, and I bet there's nothing better a grunt would love to see when the shit has hit the fan. And I'm not saying this just 'cause I know a pilot ... theses things just simply look bad to the bone.

UNSOLVED MYSTERY SOLVED?

I don't know how many of you go back to the early days of diving, but I was first attracted to it (and, as a spin-off, surfing) in the late 50s/early 60s. One of the many things that lured me into what would become a nearly life-long hobby/sport/job was news that a British "frogman" had disappeared around a Russian ship that had brought Russian leaders to England for a meeting. A body was later found and ID'd as the diver — Lt. Cmdr Lionel "Buster" Crabb (top, left) — even though it had been in the soak for quite a while and was missing some body parts ... such as its head.

Anyway ... this Cold War mystery may have been solved. HERE'S what a Russian diver had to say about the disappearance.

A new book is due out on the tale, and what this news has to do with that is ... well ... who knows. Crabb's disappearance remains every bit as intriguing as that of Donald Crowhurst (top, right), the round-the-world sailor.

Ya' gotta hand it to the Brits when it comes to mystery!

MORE MSM AGENDA-DRIVEN "JOURNALISM"

Question: With the economy ostensibly tanking (I'm sure it's because of President Bush), how did the stock market do yesterday? All week you read about both the NASDAQ and Dow Jones circling the toilet, but how much did they drop?

Answer: They didn't. Both finished the week up.

Oh, yeah. THAT made the front page.

NO PELOSI IN CHIEF

I swore to God I wouldn't get wrapped up in the election campaigning yet ... BUT

This is of interest to New Yorkers and specifically East Enders. Lee Zeldin will be running for a Congressional Seat in 2008, and if he does nothing else beyond this, he has my vote.

Those of you NOT from the area, need to give this a read, purely because it actually says something.

I'm also naming Mr. Zeldin winner of LRRP's World's Line of the Week award for his "Our Constitution does not call for a Pelosi in Chief."

If you really DO support the grunts in the field, you'll want to read the following.

STATEMENT FROM US CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE LEE ZELDIN

"On the House of Representatives Passage of the War Spending Bill Yesterday
I condemn Congressional Representatives of both parties for ignoring successes AND sacrifices of our military this past year by voting in support of the misnamed Orderly and Responsible Redeployment Appropriations Act. Since my deployment to Iraq in 2006, General Petraeus and the warriors fighting alongside him have made great strides in reducing murder, rape and intimidation crimes throughout Iraq. Sadr City has been cleansed by the paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division, Iraqi police throughout the country are showing up to work more often due to increased accountability measures, and former insurgents are now working with our troops to destroy Al Qaeda in Iraq. Also of significance is that American troop deaths have been noticeably dropping and the number of Iranian bombs in Iraq has been cut in half.

"Regardless of whether or not we should have invaded Iraq, the fact is that we have men and women in harm’s way, fighting for strategic and tactical victories where possible and many have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

"Our Constitution does not call for a Pelosi in Chief. General Petraeus is working towards bringing our troops home starting next month and our Congress must acknowledge his successes, support his recommendations, and honor our military's sacrifices regardless of misguided pursuits and misplaced self-interest. My congressman, Tim Bishop, and his leader, Nancy Pelosi, win if we lose in Iraq and that is not responsible leadership. Yesterday's most recent political stunt probably will not even make it to the President's desk. The House of Representatives and Senate hold their separate press conferences, and agree on nothing when the topic of cut and run is on the table. Since the Democrats have taken over Congress, 40 different pieces of legislation to quit Iraq have been publicized without anything actually being sent to the President for approval, making this more a dog and pony show than responsible governance.

"Support General Petraeus and his plan. It is working. Among other initiatives, it calls for reducing the number of American troops starting next month. Since January of this year, he has given Americans the strength to stand up to Washington and support a game plan for victory in withdrawal.

"When our troops come home, I would rather our heads be held high rather than dragging through the sand with a white flag draped over our backs."

President Pervez Musharraf The legally-elected president of Pakistan is the only stabilizing influence keeping the crazy islamacists away from nuclear weapons. What does the American media do? Scream dire predictions of his downfall. The Left Wing is going to get us nuked yet.

GPS Update The European Union has been developing their own GPS system for a bunch of years now. Called Galileo, it appears that cost overruns may endanger the project before any of the 30 satellites get launched. FYI: GPS sats are involved in day-to-day living “necessities” such as cellphones and ATMs.

Small Boat Paddlers In light of SAR requirements, costs and false alarms, the US Coast Guard is asking all owners of all small craft to permanently mark the owners name, address, phone number and e-mail address on the inside of their boat in some manner.

FOR THE RECORD — IT'S A SCAM

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the ‘research’ to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus...

"I do not oppose environmentalism. I do not oppose the political positions of either party. However, Global Warming, ie Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you ‘believe in.’ It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a non-event, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe a me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it...

"There is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril... In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped. The sky is not falling.” — John Coleman, founder of The Weather Channel.

Oh, sure! What the hell does he know?

Nuff said.

WELL I COULDN'T MAKE THIS UP

Heard about the world's most famous ditz and attention seeker, Paris Hilton's latest?

I swear this is true and thank Suzanne O for turning me on to it.

Essentially, she's championing elephants in India, but apparently these are elephants that get shit-faced drunk on rice wine and then rampage around like, well, shit faced drunks. Six even ended up electrocuted when — during a bout of boozing — they got so wrecked they ran into some electrical wire and zaaaaap.

Been there done that, you say? I know what you mean.

WHERE O WHERE HAVE I BEEN

Been on the road for the last four days so I missed a bunch of stuff.

Happy Veterans Day to anyone who has ever served (November 11). We all know the origin of the day, right? Armistice Day (as in WW I) at the 11th hour on 11/11/1918

Happy 230th to The USMC (November 10)

The 32nd anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald the famed ore carrier of song (November 10)

And today (November 13) marks the 65th anniversary of the sinking of the USS Juneau during the battle for Guadalcanal. Part of the ship's complement were the five Sullivan brothers, who all died when the Juneau went down

Kudos to Jet Blue. The screens provided on every Jet Blue seat are an excellent idea for passing the time of flight. So is the seat configurations leg-room wise. Plus, Jet Blue out of JFK definitely has their shit together insofar as passenger movement and comfort from the minute you enter the terminal. If they could fix the way JFK handles auto traffic in the pick up area, they'd have a damn near perfect operation. But I digress.

Caught an excellent docu on The History Channel on the flight home last night Band of Bloggers (I wasn't thrilled with the title, either, clever as it was). It was about some of the early in-service/in-country bloggers of the Iraq War and how it changed the face of war insofar as civilians are concerned. Short shrift is given the way video changed the way war was viewed during the Viet Nam War, but in context it was quite correct.

The show contained some sterling stuff from the guys (and one girl) on the ground, and also a ton of outstanding observations strewn throughout the commentary provided by the writers.

More when I get unburied from a TON of paperwork ...

KITE BOARDING AT MAVERICKS

Just when you think they can't figure out anything new, this guy surfs Mavs with a kiteboard.

It's about mid-size Mavericks, which is to say, it's about as big as anything I ever rode and this guy has it pretty well wired. Wild.
