JIHAD APOSTASY

Naturally, you won't see this in the US press, but it's a most interesting article about the conversion of former jihadists in Egypt, who are questioning the religious validity of what al Qaida is doing not only against Americans, but against "believers" everywhere. First and foremost are the efforts of a former Egyptian jihadist (doing a life sentence for his involvement with the assassination of Anwar Sadat).

Apparently it's serious enough to have drawn rebuke from the upper levels of the al Qaida baby-killers organization.

If you really want to know what's happening in the Muslim world, THIS is well-worth a read. It's from the UK's The Guardian

A WORD TO THE WISE - WITH K-12 AGED CHILDREN

Pay real close attention to the material with which your children are being taught.

This means you HAVE to go to school board meetings, you HAVE to see curriculums and syllabi and it also means that you MUST monitor what is being used in the classroom that may be above and beyond what has been approved.

They're YOUR children, and it'll be YOUR fault if information they obtain from the educational system has little to do with today's reality.

WANNA' FEEL OLD?

This week in 1981, MTV bursts onto the airwaves. It broadcast The Buggles’ somewhat prophetic "Video Killed the Radio Star." That makes MTV 26 years old. Argh.

There's a lot more stuff at Musician's Friend who put out a "Week in Review" segment every week with their latest catalog offerings. Worth getting on their mailing list for the Week in Review alone. (No, I'm not a closet rocker. Well, I am, but that's not why I'm on their list. I bought voice-over equipment from them.)

JOHN DOE PASSES

From Brigitte Gabriel at the American Congress for Truth:

A huge victory for the American public. The John Doe provision in the Homeland Security bill passed. Thanks to Peter King and Joe Leiberman for all their work and persistence. Thanks also to you our members, the American public, for all your efforts. Your calls, your emails and faxes to your elected officials put the pressure on them and they heard you. It is your activism as citizens and voters that made the difference. This is the second time we were able to mobilize tens of thousands all across the country to call and make their voice heard on the same John Doe issue in less than then 24 hours.

Here is the final language in the bill:

"Any person who, in good faith and based on objectively reasonable suspicion, makes or causes to be made, a voluntary report of covered activity to an authorized official shall be immune from civil liability under federal, state and local law for such report."
Here is Mr. King's statement:

"In a post-9/11 reality, vigilance is essential to security. Despite the Democratic opposition to this important homeland security measure, I'm thrilled to announce that common sense has prevailed and heroic Americans who report suspicious activity will be protected from frivolous lawsuits. The American people were heard and our country is safer because of it."
This is why I am asking you today to support American Congress for Truth (ACT) and our effort to mobilize our country, inspire our citizens to ACT, and inform you and millions of important bills being voted on in Washington DC so you can make your voices heard. I ask you today to stand with us financially and become a monthly supporter to help us continue doing our important work. We are only as strong as our supporters. Click here to donate.

Congratulations to all of us for this victory!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the part you played in making this happen. I am so honored and proud to have you as a member of my organization. I urge you to forward our emails to your friends and family and encourage them to subscribe and join us. Together we will continue to fight this war on our freedom and our civilization and win.

BUSH'S RESIGNATION SPEECH

I'm not going to comment. Read it ... to the end.

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans." Not doing it this time.
If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There’s been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.

I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners, including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil" thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied; People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, damn it, you might just as well FedEx a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.

AMERICAN HOSTAGES … 2007

In Iran.

No, not the Jimmy Carter left them, Ron Reagan freed them hostages. The American citizens being held hostage in Iran TODAY.

WHAT? You haven’t heard about that?

No shit. Of course, if the oh-so objective MSM actually reported news, you might have. But they don’t and you didn’t.

Read THIS and — if you’re a lib — come up with some glib explanation.

MORALLY UPLIFTING

There really are people in this world worthy of emulating.

Here's a woman, KAZIAH HANCOCK from Utah from whom we could all learn a thing or two.

(I originally left this entry just as above, but I can't. Search Ms. Hancock's name and see how many of the outlets you get your news from appear in the search ... and draw your own conclusions.)

CONTRACTORS

When I was in the RVN we had civilian contractors in-country. While I'm sure some were killed in combat action, my sense was that - by and large - they provided a back-up role in running the military and civilian infrastructure, rather than a direct combat role. Regardless, they were well compensated, just like today's contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan, most of whom are ex-military who had the sense enough to get out and get paid for the blood they lose.

Are they mercs? Well, to be OED correct, no,at least not the one's fighting against terrorists and terrorism. Why's that you ask (you probably didn't ask if you've read this far, but LRRP's World is my forum)? Because they fight on one side, rather than any side that offers them money. Is there a justifiable case against using them? Well, to be honest, no. If you want to blame someone for their use, effectivenesss or ineffectiveness, cost and/or excesses, you may as well blame the US government and all our elected darlings for not providing a standing military large enough to handle multiple conflicts.

I admire these guys, and would probably be one had all this happened 10 or 15 years ago.

HERE'S a closer look at what these guys do. It's the same as our military do and with the same repercussions.

A PROFOUNDLY DEMENTED ACT

“If America is ever to triumph in its war against Islamic terrorism, we must get past the idea that we are its root cause. Specifically, we must get past the idea that a suicide bomber is just a peace-loving Muslim who, if we hadn’t set him off, would be growing figs and building sandcastles. Strapping explosives to your torso, marching yourself into a crowded marketplace and blowing yourself up in order to slaughter as many civilians, including women and children, as you can is a profoundly demented act, an act which undoes a dozen or so millennia in the moral evolution of the human species. Such an act is not triggered by America’s sociopolitical landscape or by its foreign policy. Rather, it is nurtured by an intellectually degenerate culture, sponsored by sleazy kleptocratic regimes and authorized by a once-honorable religious tradition perverted to serve the pipedreams of an apocalyptic death cult. It’s Muslim civilization, not America, that must change in order for Islamic terrorism to cease.” —Mark Goldblatt

SCREW YOU SENATOR CLINTON .. FROM THE LATIN

And that goes double for anyone else who can't keep their yap shut. You're responsible for killing our people.

And 30 years from now you'll all be walking up to those who did the bleeding, whining about how you woulda', shoulda', but didn't join up and fight the good fight.

You killed us in Nam and you did the bullshit shoulda woulda 30 years later. You're cowards and will do it again.

Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman.

or if you prefer Marcus Tullius Cicero:

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Hmmmmm? On one hand I’ve got the all mighty American media saying one thing. On the other hand it’s actual field testimony. Hmmmmm. Who, oh who, should I believe.

MUSLIM SENATOR EQUATES BUSH WITH HITLER

Here's something I bet the libs are positively ecstatic about.

Keith Ellison, the Black Muslim (as in an Afro-American member of Islam ... not Malcolm X) elected to Congress by a bunch of idiots in Minnesota, spoke to a group named Atheists for Human Rights on July 8. Aside from the fact that as a Muslim, atheists (along with everyone else) are merely dhimmis, while Ellison was kissing up to the crowd (after all, he is still a hack) he let this one out (as quoted by the Minnesota Star Tribune):

He suggested impeaching Vice President Cheney for engineering the Scooter Libby commutation, and intimated that President Bush was like Hitler vis a vis the Reichstag Fire of 1933 (read your history books).

"It's almost like the Reichstag fire in Nazi Germany, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it and put the leader of that country (Hitler) in a position where he could basically have the authority to do whatever he wanted."

Attempting to cover his ass by alluding to reality, he then said, "The fact is that I'm not saying [Sept. 11] was a U.S. plan, or anything like that because, you know, that's how they put you in the nut-box-dismiss you."

Some of this stuff may appear (or may already have) on O'Reilly's show , giving the idiot another 15 seconds of fame.

Hmmmm. Wonder what the gun laws are like in the land of lakes?

BEST PARAGRAPH THIS WEEK

From that heavenly hottie of the right, Ann Coulter's, column today, dealing with the liberal MSM's "journalistic" coverage of the Duke lacrosse player's case, which is sort of like the Tawana Brawley case, but in reverse. Or something ...

Anyway, here's the graf:

"You can't win a victory like this without some liberals being affected. Bush may be an ineffective communicator, but that doesn't mean all thought stops in the rest of the country. Well-educated liberals, who have wealth and homes and children, begin to freak out as they get to know their apparent allies. They have something to lose from allowing insane people to run the country."

And here's the entire column, titled NAPPY HEADED HOAX.

Nappy Headed Hoax. Jeez, but ya' just gotta love her!

Mention her name or anything she writes or says to most liberals and they start sputtering and stuttering like Porky Pig. Gahd, but she's great.

PARDON ME

With the libs absolutely aghast that the President would have the temerity to cut the sentence of the unfortunately nicknamed Scooter Libbey, and with former prez and possible First Man Bill, throwing stones while living in a glass house, I thought you'd be interested in THIS chronicle of good ol' Bill's list of pardons.

Makes interesting reading if for nothing than the number of pardons and, for those with a criminal bent, ought to get the schemes flowing.

If you do the crime, apparently, you don't gotta' do the time if you donate to the thirsty well of politics.

IF YOU START BY SELLING OUT GIs

Director Oliver Stone, who got most but not all of it right with Platoon, and who seems to never have been able to muster the wherewital for that summation again, opened his big mouth, and stepped right into the Toonland with the rest of the Hollywood's ersatz inteligencia/gliterati.

He was attempting to make a film about - this has to be, if not the penultimate subject in left wing stupidty, then certainly close - that little rugrat president of Iran, the country known far and wide for upholding the democratic principles that all liberals love.

Anyway ... after being called "part of the Great Satan," by the Iranian government, a name that apparently actually means something to the rapists, murders, child abusers and otherwise lovely clergy who actually run that country, he was refused and proceeded to thank the Iranian people by comparing their little Hitlerian whack job to the president of the United States.

Oliver, you're - demonstrably now - an asshole and have been since you sold out the American GI with the ending of Platoon.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

“Somewhere in our growing up we began to be aware of the meaning of days and with that awareness came the birth of patriotism. July Fourth is the birthday of our nation. I believed as a boy, and believe even more today, that it is the birthday of the greatest nation on earth... In recent years, however, I’ve come to think of that day as more than just the birthday of a nation. It also commemorates the only true philosophical revolution in all history. Oh, there have been revolutions before and since ours. But those revolutions simply exchanged one set of rules for another. Ours was a revolution that changed the very concept of government. Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people. We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should. Happy Fourth of July.” — Ronald Reagan

WANT FAIR AND BALANCED?

Then read this piece regarding Moore's Sicko.

As previously noted, I find Moore offensive. Here’s someone who is able to put the dramatist’s flic in perspective … quite intelligently and articulately and — surprise, surprise — factually.

It’s by Kurt Loder of — yes, you’re reading this right — the MTV Network.

A doff of the boonie hat to Mr. Loder as well as Best Piece of the Month kudos — and it’s only July 2.

GO HERE

APPARENTLY IT ONLY REFERS TO OTHER LIARS

“Law enforcement can’t be partisan,” said Senator Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) on Meet the Press Sunday referring to his threat to bring contempt charges against the White House regarding its refusal to turn over documents relating to the firing of some federal prosecutors.

This is the idiot who wants to the US not to use landmines, preferring our soldiers die rather than use those nasty little suckers.

Known as Leaky Leahy, for the time when, as vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he acknowledged that he had leaked secret info regarding the Iran Contra affair to a reporter (he was forced to resign the post as a result), considered to be the worst security breach by the committee in its history; has bragged that he received letters containing anthrax (didn’t happen); has revealed that we had access to phone taps that led to the capture of the Achille Lauro hijackers (1985); leaked secret info about the Reagan administration plans to topple Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi (1986) which caused the plan to be aborted; etc.

But good ol’ Russert and Meet the Press figured they’d allow him some national speaking room to talk about liars.

Yeah, that's the fair and balanced Main Stream Media for ya'.
