I still haven't decided what I'm going to do here, but I figured I'd better address the Slick controversey.
Slick 1, Paul A, resides up north and I've known him since the crazy ass days working in Boston for Aer Lingus in the early 70s. There are things that happened back then that we STILL can't talk about ... though I'm sure the statute of limitations is up by now.
Slick 2, Ian S, resides in the Lone Star State. We met when we were first taking dive lessons back in the late 70s, and the name may have appeared during the aborted Bridge mission. Those twin 38s I used to wear belonged to Slick #1
Slick 3, Paul L, resides out by. He was pretty much the first guy I met when we moved out here. He's an ex Green Beanie, but unfortunately that puts the time of our meeting at somewhere around 1999, making him Slick #3.
And thus the Slick Controversey, hopefully, put to bed. I guess, I just need a Slick wherever I am ...and I guess if there is a next one he'd better be named Ian for continuity sakes.

Slick 2 here, although, I cede to the 2 position somewhat grudgingly. Indeed, the symmetry in the slick family tree suggests the "next" slick should be another Ian. Therefore, I shall formally accept that title from this point forward. Accordingly, I am now Slick 2 and Slick 4. Further, by a majority vote, which I now hold, it is my finding that there shall be no more slicks. It is simply too confusing.
Now, on to a less serious matter, I have an idea for Gary. Why not change the character of this blog until there's that refreshed feeling of utter and complete rejuvenation? What does that mean, you say? Shit, I don't know, I'm winging it here. Okay, back on track . . . how about starting a compilation of famous stories arising from expeditions with your friends . . . the remarkable slicks? There's got to be a million laughs from those days just waiting for harvest. Items such as whatever evil your hiding from your Aer Lingus days? Or the bridge debacle? Or the other night dive with the boat pulling the anchor free in Port Jefferson harbor and dragging us along for the ride. C'mon bro, take another track and let's light this muther up! Slick 2 & 4.
