DISTURBING NON-REPORTAGE

I got an e-mail this morning (thanks to Paul L) regarding a May 18 (I believe) speech in which The Empty Suit mentions campaigning in "57 states."

Now this — on face value — doesn't necessarily mean ANY thing, but when you add in the fact that there are "57" Islamic States, things get , shall we say, interesting. [Allow me to clarify the previous statement: The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 nations, most of which are Islamic, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America.]

So, naturally, I gotta check this out. I go through four pages of Google citation before I find a newspaper that mentions it (The Amboy Press Times of NJ). Hmmm. Curiouser and curiouser, she said.

Do NOT even attempt to tell me that "anyone" would make a slip such as that. Fifty or 51 states, maybe, but not 57, which just "happens" to coincide with a religion The Empty Suit is constantly maintaining he knows nothing about. Ain't a goddamn American who doesn't have a Muslim background knows anything about 57 Islamic States ... until The Empty Suit's Freudian slip.

Shit ... as Rush noted: Quayle spelled ""potato" wrong and they're STILL making jokes about that.

But nary a word about The Empty Suit's gaffe.

Hmmmm. Do you suppose...?
