If any of you missed the Brickyard 400 — one of the jewels of NASCAR racing — you missed zippo, nada, nothing, unless you like the NBA's nothing-happens-until-the-last-two-minutes style.
The race ran 52 of 160 (may have the total wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's it) laps under yellow because the tires mounted on the right sides of the cars couldn't run more than 10 laps safely. Juan Montoya and Matt Kenseth had tires grenade on them with such force that the back right sheet metal was strewn all over the place.
The only thing worth than this race was the last F-1 race run here that also had a tire controversy.
With ratings down, this is noooooooo way to get anyone interested in NASCAR. I know it's called the Sprint Cup, but that wasn't meant to mean 10 lap races in between yellow flags.
What a mess.
The saving grace was that it rained all day where I was, so there wasn't anything else to do.
