Well ...this will probably be my last entry of 2008, barring an over-abundance of Johnny Black later this evening, sooooo, Happy 2009.
I leave you with a story that appeared in The Weekly Standard on December 29 by a writer named Matt Labash.
This is an incredibly well-written story about the city of Detroit. It's quite a long read, so save it for a time when you have 20 minutes or so of quiet and really want to "read" something, not scan it.
The piece is entitled
The City Where the Sirens Never Sleep
I give this one my Best of the Year award.
Thanks to MJ for giving me the heads up on it.
