Jesse Combs Breaks the Women's Land Speed Record

Jessi Combs broke the 48-year old record on October 9, 2013, on Oregon's 13-mile Alvord Desert course. The vehicle was a highly modified old F-104 Starfighter, that once served as a chase plane for the X-15 tests.
