66th ANNIVERSARY OF MARKET GARDEN

For you paratroopers out there, today marks the 66th anniversary of the launch of Operation Market Garden ... the largest airborne operation ever.

Even though it failed to "end the war" it was a gallant effort nonetheless with troopers from all the allied commands.

The movie ain't bad, but the book is great. They both go by the title A Bridge Too Far. The movie starred "everybody" on both sides of the pond, and the book was written by Cornelius Ryan.

65th ANNIVERSARY

Tomorrow marks the 65th anniversary of the start of Operation Market Garden ... which, as all Paratroopers know, was the largest airborne operation ever conceived and launched that — unfortunately — failed.

But it was Monty's stab at a "quick" end to WW II.

Best book about it is A Bridge Too Far by Cornelius Ryan.

This was also the name of the movie that starred virtually every American and British "he-man" actor there ever was. Not bad, as WW II flics of that era go.
