What started off as research on wireless technology for one of my magazine columns eventually led — as searches on the Internet are wont — to a guy named Mike Adams. Adams turned out to be a tenured criminology professor (i.e., it’s Dr. Mike Adams) at the University of North Carolina (Wilmington). He is also known nationally as a conservative commentator, and most importantly, a chronicleer of the academic establishment who has a wit and manner of expression as sharp as a razor honed Sykes Fairburn. And seemingly as lethal.
Being that I’ve long maintained that the major problem with journalism today is what is taught by the Dr. Phillip Barbay’s of today’s J-schools, Adams give me hope that just maybe there is a vein of reality at work in the loftier halls of academia.
Regardless, I like reading this guy, and you will too.
Be prepared to spend some time reading, but have a taste here
