SPEAKING OF SEARCHES

HERE'S an interesting article from Wired about the high-tech search for Jim Gray (a famous-in-the-Geek-community computer coder who,"...helped make possible such mainstays of modern life as cash machines, ecommerce, online ticketing, and deep databases like Google..." Gray, a sailor, disappeared off the coast of San Francisco six months ago.

Good stuff. (Personally, I'll bet the old lady's involved with it somehow, but then I always suspect the spouse until proven otherwise ... and have been right about 80 percent of the time, if I do say so myself).

It's a long piece but an eye-opening look at what high-tech can do these days (and "these days" is six months ago).

Anyway ... if you believe in The Black Helicopters, this article will convince you you're not just paranoid!
