Back home and trying to unbury myself from a mountain of paperwork and whatnot after flying all over the Eastern Seaboard.
And — to segue nicely into the next item — here's something from my friends at High and Wild Adventures. I guarantee you'll really wish you were going.
SKYDIVE EVEREST
"It has been two years in the planning and brings together the skills and experience learnt and developed over twenty years of adventure by a special group of professional adventurers. So it is with great pleasure that all the High & Wild team introduce to you what is already being heralded as one of the top adventures in the world.
"There is something here for everybody.
"Trained skydivers ~ they can come and make their own freefall descent along with other qualified skydivers; and for those who "seek the thrill but lack the skill" we provide a tandem parachute for them to make the same jump (but as a passenger) harnessed to a highly experienced tandem master who ensures their safety while they enjoy the ride past some of the highest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest (29035ft) But Everest Skydive is not just for them. Observers who do not wish to make be part of the freefall programme can join in the adventure, while staying earthbound. Observers, as well as friends and family can see the images beamed back to the drop zone from the aircraft and the video footage taken by the aerial cameramen, and they will part of the excitement of it all.
"All the phases of the 15 day programme of the first ever Everest Skydive are to be filmed for international distribution. This will cover all the briefings, equipment familiarisation, acclimatisation trek and the use of high altitude life support systems... as well as the final party in Kathmandu! Observers and friends will oversee or be a part of all this
You are invited to join the adventure at whichever level you feel is appropriate to you. We hope that you will accompany some of the world's top adventurers who are managing the programme and be part of the whole experience.
