Well, the new boy got a good taste of the press and did a decent job. His answers to a few of the idiots in the press were actually pretty good.
Obama knows the MSM is populated by idiots, but got a good taste of how inane they are last night.
There was the babbling old fool, Helen Thomas, who has as much right being there as Dick Clark does on New Year's Eve... Obama moved away from her question, leaving her droolling that he hadn't answered the question. You're way overdue at the dog track, Helen.
Some total moron from CNN asked why the MSM couldn't take pictures of soldier's coffins coming home, another asked about Alex Rodriquez and steroids (very important stuff ... hell, the 11 o'clock news led with a split screen of Obama speaking about the economy and Rodriquez talking about steroids. I mean, they are equally important aren't they?) Oh, and let's not forget the genius who asked when he was going to pull the troops that aren't in Afghanistan yet out of Afghanistan.
Hey, these are the people who got him elected ... and he made them look like the dolts they are. (Fair play, as many as asked stupid questions asked good ones. One — I forget who right now — asked "what can the American people look for to determine whether the stimulus package is working?" or something to that effect. Good question.)
The Prez said the right things regarding defense, terrorism, Iran, etc.
He still didn't convince me about the stimulus, and I still think what the government is doing is so far wrong it's not funny, but — as he said — something has to be done. I just don't think the stimulus in its present form is it. (I want the capital gains tax lifted!!)
So, he gets a B on the press conference. Handled the MMSM (moronic main stream media) well, gave the right answers on defense, pushed the Dempublican line on the economy, looked presidential, stuttered less than W (but you could see him thinking before he spoke), and actually lied once about his Veep — and made a joke out of it (of course the MSM laughed hysterically!).
