The MSM has been pooh-poohing the audacity of anyone not passing the stimulus package in several different newspapers and TV news programs, suggesting that it is merely “the details” stalling passage.
Some fucking “details!” A mere $2 trillion (with a capital T) of our money is heading for the Federal waste bin, and we shouldn’t worry about "the details!”
(You do realize the $1 trillion the SecTreas is talking about is above and beyond the $900 billion of the stimulus package, don’t you?)
Here’s a look at one of the “details.” You can expect more idiocy like this as soon as the government gets its hands on your money. Classic government/Demolican (I'm working on a word that sounds right, so bear with different versions of a combo of democrat and republican) obfuscation.
This from the LAT.
“The Obama administration put the brakes on a push to expand oil and gas drilling off America’s coasts Tuesday and promised to speed development of offshore wind farms.
“Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced he will extend public comments for six months on a last-minute proposal by the Bush administration to open swaths of the California, Alaska, Atlantic and Gulf coasts for drilling. He also ordered Interior staff to compile data on the potential benefits from oil, gas and renewable development offshore and pledged public hearings on drilling, including one to be held on the West Coast…”
We should see the "results" of this great, green, new, better, world-saving idea, around, oh, let’s say 2020. (And, remember, I think wind farms are a great idea!)
Assholes.
Many who voted for the Messiah are blithely going along with — and will continue to nod their heads adoringly at the Prez (did you get a load of some of the people in the crowd at the Ft. Myers “town meeting?”) — this kind of crap, as the President, Congress and the Senate (and the rest of the self-servicing blowhards in DC) sell the country out from under us, while telling us it’s for “our own good.”
It is time to go to the mattresses and take our country back from overpaid, overfed, what-me-worry-? politicians of any and all stripes. They are no longer working for our benefit.
