I got to Viet Nam on August 4, 1968 and was sent to the Central Highlands and a unit called the 4th Infantry Division based out of a place called Camp Enari, outside Pleiku, RVN.
I never knew the origin of the camp's name — hell, it never occurred to me to find it out — but I spent 18 of my 27 months in Nam there.
Anyway — courtesy of my buddy AJ, a Patriot Guard rider out of Kansas — I finally discoverd the etymology of the camp's name.
So, for those of you who might be interested in this kinda of stuff ... go HERE.
As I said in the title ... far fuckin' out. Below: Enari at it's peak.
