An excellent letter-to-the-editor I stumbled across at Progress Index.Com today.
To the Editor:
On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, our Senate met to vote on the government health care reform/public option. Our government is already in debt, but this administration and the Senate don't seem to care.
The taxpayers of America are expected to pay trillions of dollars in taxes for this horrific government health care reform. It's not free health insurance people, someone has to pay for it, and that someone is the workers of this country. Not only will we be paying taxes for the government health reform for those who want free health insurance, but these taxes will be passed on to our children and our grandchildren.
Every program the government runs if broke. Medicare, Medicaid, the U.S. Post Office, and Social Security are all financial disasters. The only reason Social Security recipients are receiving their monthly checks so far is because the United States is borrowing money from China.
Our nation is broke and our government (the president and the Senate) will not listen to our voices. More than half of the country does not want the government health care reform. The only ones who do want it are those who don't have to pay for it. Why don't they let the tax paying people of this nation vote on this?

US HEALTHCARE 2010
From the folks at News of the Weird regarding the oft touted British Health Care system.
Don't think for a moment anything different is going to happen if the Dems get this health care bill in place.
"When social workers praised the progress 10-year-old Devon Taverner was making with her prosthetic leg (necessary because of a birth defect), bureaucrats terminated her disability payments, which instantly made her life harder. For example, the lack of a car allowance means she cannot travel without, each trip, removing and re-attaching the prosthesis. [Daily Mail, 10-11-09]
"On the other hand, Britain's High Court ruled in September that inmate Denis Roberts, 59, a murderer, was entitled to free surgery to remove a birthmark, and the National Health Service in August granted a free prescription for Viagra to recidivist sex offender Roger Martin, 71, whose latest conviction, last year, involved an 11-year-old boy. [BBC News, 9-2-09] [Daily Mail, 8-20-09]"

READ THIS
Depending on who you believe — and if you believe any of the bullshit coming out of Washington or the SRM, you're nuts — the health care bill BHO, San Fran Nan, Reid, etc., et al, and cohorts are trying to foster on your tax-paying asses is variously described as between 1000 and 1900 pages long.
Since the morons we've elected to represent us can read, understand, discern the ramifications, etc., of this in under three days (as long as no one with any medical administration knowledge — much less business sense — gets in the way), you should be able to read it before you finish breakfast.
HERE'S one version in PDF format.
Enjoy your Cheerios.

AH, GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE
Theresa Winters, 36, who lives in Luton, England, with her unemployed boyfriend, Toney Housden, is pregnant (and chain-smoking) with her 14th child (his 12th) and remains totally dependent on public assistance, which officials estimate has totaled "millions" of pounds. Social workers recently removed the kids still living with her (five were born with disabilities), and Winters defiantly told The Sun in July that, if they also take away her 14th in November, she and Housden will just keep making more until she gets one to keep. Housden said he would "love" to go to work, but only for "the right reasons" (specifically, not, he said, to earn money for family counseling because that is the government's responsibility).

Welcome to the wonderful world of government sponsored healthcare.

TV LIES ... I MEAN ADS ... EXPLAINED
Consumer Report is offering a blog at Health Reform Ads that looks at ads on television regarding the healthcare proposal and where the BS lies (excuse the pun) in the ad.
Very, very worthwhile. Check it out, and bookmark it. They update as new ads arrive on your screen.
